Intel® Extreme Masters will join forces with the Korean eSports Association (KeSPA) to host the StarCraft® Proleague outside of Korea for the first time in history.
Proleague began back in 2003 with Ever Proleague, which was organized at the time by OGN and has since become the heart of competitive StarCraft® in Korea. Proleague has fostered countless world-class StarCraft® stars over the years, many who have dominated tournaments around the globe.
It is a great honor for Intel Extreme Masters to welcome Korea's very best players in the first ever Proleague tournament outside of Korea.
How does it work?
Throughout the year, seven professional Korean teams participate in the SK Telecom Proleague, gathering points in the hopes of qualifying for the annual grand finals.
The yearly league is split into three rounds, each played over a four week period in a round-robin format. The top four teams from each round qualify for the playoffs where the best team will be crowned champion.
This year, the two best teams in Round 3 of the Proleague will travel to compete live in Shanghai at Intel Extreme Masters!
