Kongdoo Monster

We saw Kongdoo Monster in international action not long ago, as they competed at IEM Gyeonggi where they ended up taking 2nd place. Their results at the event were as follows:

Group stage

  • 1-0 vs. Dark Passage
  • 2-0 vs. GIANTS

Playoffs

  • 2-1 vs. Immortals
  • 1-3 vs. Samsung Galaxy

We welcome Kongdoo Monster to another IEM tournament and wish them to best of luck on Polish grounds.

ROX Tigers

As an organisation, ROX Tigers are well known on the international scene, including IEM. In the 2015 World Championship they've competed in Katowice under the name GE Tigers and were big favorites to take the trophy. The tournament, however, was TSM's to take and Tigers finished in the top four.

We also the organisation at 2016 Worlds where, again, they were one of the favorites to take it all. Just like in Katowice the year before, the Tigers ended up with a top four finish after a loss to later world champions, SKT.

Since December last year, ROX Tigers have a brand new lineup and who knows what they will show us in Katowice? We're looking forward to seeing it!

EDward Gaming

The top Chinese team will take a shot at taking their first international trophy in Katowice. At 2016 Worlds, they finished second in their group (below H2k) and moved on to the quarterfinals where the lost 1-3 to one of the tournament favorites, ROX Tigers. In their home league, LPL, they've been reigning supreme, taking first place 2016 Summer Season and playoffs, as well as winning the Demacia Cup.

A couple of roster changes were made before the LPL season started, as Deft and PawN left the team. Despite these changes, EDG have had a great start to the new LPL season, remaining undefeated so far and sitting on top of their group after wins against Vici Gaming and Team WE.

IEM World Championship will another chance for EDG to prove themselves on the international stage and reign supreme over teams from other regions.
