Keeping the momentum going

Astralis was formed as one of the first player-made organisations in Counter-Strike history. The Danes have been a favorite to win any tournament they participated in. Despite that, the team was notorious for finishing in the semifinals at best.

The team decided that roster changes were needed and, as it turned out, they were right. First, they replaced Cajunb with Kjaerbye but achieving similar results when before the swap with Team Dignitas (now North). One last roster change was made one gla1ve came in to replace Karrigan who joined FaZe Clan.

The two roster changes were just what the doctor ordered as Astralis finally achieved what they were working for so hard - their first CS:GO major championship title won at the ELEAGUE Major earlier this year which put them as the first team in the World Ranking. The team did not stop there. Their most recent LAN tournament was IEM World Championship Katowice where they finished second in their group (by a margin) and then continued to take 2-0 wins over Natus Vincere and Heroic in the playoffs. They met with FaZe Clan in the grand final where they took the series 3-1 and lifted their first ever IEM trophy on the world's largest stage.

Now, Astralis are looking to clinch their second IEM trophy in a row in Sydney and to continue their dominance and to remain the number one CS:GO team in the world. They are one of the big favorites to take it all but they cannot underestimate their opponents. The player to watch will be, as usual, Dev1ce, who has been THE consistent Danish AWPer for the past 4 years. His playstyle is very team-oriented, relying on his teammates to get him in a position to pick up the kills whilst his team relies on him to pick up the kills to help them win the round.

Will Astralis manage to carry their momentum all the way to Australia and hold on to their top spot in the CS:GO World Ranking?
