The IEM Oakland champions and two more teams confirmed for the League of Legends Intel® Extreme Masters World Championship Katowice!
Unicorns of Love, H2k and M19 Team will compete in Katowice this coming February.

This year, Intel Extreme Masters World Championship Katowice is bringing its League of Legends tournament to a whole new level dedicating an entire weekend in the Spodek arena to the game. Eight teams from around the world will compete for the coveted IEM World Championship trophy and a share of the US$150,000 prize pool in front of thousands of roaring fans.

The teams

We are thrilled to confirm the first four teams who will travel to Katowice to compete.

H2k

The EU LCS team have earned their spot at the event by finishing in the top eight at 2016 Worlds and might end up being the favorites of the Katowice crowd as Jankos will be playing on his home turf.

Unicorns of Love

The Unicorns did not make it to 2016 Worlds however, they did compete at Intel Extreme Masters Oakland where they took the tournament by surprise and fought their way right to the first place, the IEM trophy and a spot at IEM Katowice.

M19 Team (formerly Albus Nox Luna)

This CIS team were the biggest surprise and underdog of 2016 Worlds where they advanced from their group to the playoffs, scoring victories against G2 Esports, CLG and ROX Tigers. Their great performance earned them a spot in Katowice.
