The ESL Pro League Season 5 champions are coming to take Oakland!
G2 Esports will once again compete at our Bay Area event.

We are happy to welcome the French super team to the Intel® Extreme Masters Oakland lineup! G2 will join FaZe Clan and Astralis in the battle for the second trophy of Season 12.

Just like their opponents, G2 Esports have been in very good shape lately, finally living up to the super team label they have been striving for since their big roster changes early this year, and currently sitting at 2nd place in the World Ranking. Their first tournament win of 2017 was at DreamHack Tours. They finished second in their group with a 2-1 score and moved on to the semifinals where they defeated mousesports 2-1. In the grand final, G2 faced HellRaisers, who were having a great tournament run, and bested them 2-0 to take the trophy.

G2 did not stop there. Their next event was the ESL Pro League Season 5 finals in Dallas. They finished first in their group securing a spot in the semifinals where they met another IEM Oakland competitor, SK Gaming. G2 took down the Brazilians 2-0 and went to the all-European grand final against North. With an impressive 3-1 over the Danes, G2 Esports became our new Pro League champions.

This will be G2 Esports’ third IEM in the Bay Area as the organization was also present at IEM San Jose 2015 and IEM Oakland 2016. In San Jose, they finished at 3/4th place while in Oakland last year, they took 5/6th. What needs to be remembered though, is that  both San Jose and Oakland 2016 saw completely different rosters compete and so will Oakland 2017.

Will the current G2 Esports be the lineup to lift their first ever IEM trophy in the Oracle Arena? Secure yourself a ticket today and watch the action unfold live! Don’t forget to follow IEM on both Twitter and Facebook for further tournament updates.
