North America to be represented by Cloud9 and OpTic Gaming at the CS:GO Intel Extreme Masters World Championship Katowice!
Can a North American team triumph in the Spodek arena?

We are pleased to announce that representing North America on Polish soil in Katowice will be no other than Cloud9 and OpTic Gaming! They will be joining Virtus.pro, Ninjas in Pyjamas, Astralis and SK Gaming to compete for the Intel Extreme Masters World Championship in CS:GO on March 1-5 in Katowice.

One of the most known and beloved NA CS:GO teams didn't have the best 2016. They finished 13th/16th at MLG Columbus and did not qualify for ESL One Cologne and the ELEAGUE majors. They also didn't make it to last year's IEM World Championship as they fell to Tempo Storm in the qualifier. Their most impressive and prestigious win was at the ESL Pro League Season 4 finals where they defeated SK Gaming in the grand final.

IEM Katowice 2017 will be another chance for Cloud9 to prove themselves on the international stage. Can they surprise us just as they did at the ESL Pro League finals?

OpTic Gaming

OpTic Gaming is a team that proved they should not be underestimated as they managed to cause quite a few upsets in the past year. Their most notable win in 2016 was against Astralis in the ELEAGUE Season 2 grand final. They also won Northern Arena 2016, defeating G2 Esports in the final and took second place at the ECS Season 2 finals.

It's difficult to say what we can expect from OpTic in Katowice but they definitely should not be written off as they have shown in the past that they can beat the very top teams in the world. We're looking forward to see how they will perform.

The games commence this March

Be sure not to miss Cloud9, OpTic and more world-class teams competing live in Katowice and grab one of the remaining tickets to watch the matches on March 3-5 in the Spodek arena.
