The League of Legends tournament here at Intel Extreme Masters Singapore started with our $20,000 Amateur tournament. With the Japanese team DetonatioN FM, the Malaysian powerhouse Kuala Lumpur and the two Hong Kong teams Hong Kong Attitude and CGA Legends, some of South East Asia's best teams competed. The teams from Hong Kong went on to win their respective matches and meet each other in the Grand Final, where CGA Legends won after a close 2 - 1.
Continueing with the Professional tournament, the two teams who made it in through the qualifiers, namely Singapore Sentinels and Taipei Assassins, didn't quite cut it against fan favourites Taipei Snipers and Saigon Jokers. The Chinese Invictus Gaming weren't expected to defeat the Taipei Snipers in such a convincing fashion, but after their first match against their opponents in the Grand Finals, the Korean powerhouse CJ Entus Frost, it was clear they might be the strongest team in the competition.
Although a comeback looked like it was about to happen in the second match of the Grand Final, iG managed to once again beat down their Korean opponents and defeated CJ Entus Frost, the runner-ups of the Intel Extreme Masters World Championship, with a clear 2 - 0 and became the champions of Intel Extreme Masters Singapore.
The next event to come will be Intel Extreme Masters Sao Paulo - with teams from North & South America as well as Europe, an interesting lineup of teams is sure to be seen in the Brazilian metropolis.
