Intel Extreme Masters San Jose ESL’s biggest US esports event yet!
Intel Extreme Masters San Jose boasted some truly impressive attendance and viewing numbers last weekend, making it our biggest US event to date

Last weekend, over 6,000 people on Saturday and 6,500 on Sunday flocked to the SAP Center in San Jose to witness some of the world's best League of Legends and StarCraft II players battle it out in the latest Intel Extreme Masters tournament, and ESL's biggest US esports event thus far.

There were also plenty of people following the action online, with nearly 4 million fans having tuned in from around the world to see League of Legends giant Cloud 9 and StarCraft II sensation JoonHo "herO" Kim crowned Intel Extreme Masters San Jose champions.

Michal Blicharz, Director of Pro Gaming, said of the event:

"The event can only be labeled as historic. We had never done anything like it in the US - in terms of magnitude, number of fans or streaming results on Twitch. It's a stepping stone towards doing even more impressive things."
