Eight Koreans, Snute, Nerchio and many more accepted to the Intel® Extreme Masters SC2 tournament
Players from around the world signed up and 64 of them were chosen to compete in the Ro64 in Katowice.

There were over a 100 StarCraft II players who signed up to play at the IEM World Championship for the 64 open positions available. With a swell of players searching to participate in the tournament, players were selected based on their 2016 WCS points, results at previous ESL events and then, if necessary, results over previous official ladder seasons.

We are excited to see such a strong showing for our largest StarCraft II tournament as these players will travel to compete in Poland, where they will fight for 12 positions to join the already 12 qualified players in the Ro24.

Big names such as Snute, Nerchio, jjakji, Stats, GuMiho and many more will be looking to make their mark as we continue the 2017 WCS competitive season. The excitement builds as a new StarCraft II champion is on the horizon and will guarantee the first player to compete at the WCS Global Finals. We are excited to host this epic tournament at the IEM World Championship.
